Plant delay

Thanks to member RWFFH10 who posted this unfortunate tidbit:

It appears there may be some delays with the Hermosillo plant due to the H1N1 flu out break. I'm wondering if this will add to the wait / ship time for vehicles already built in the last week or two. My Fusion was built the week of 4/20 and I was notified today to expect delivery the week of 5/24.

Looks like my FFH will be delayed somewhat.  Oh well, gives me more time to come up with the money!

A word of hope. MY FFH was built the week of 4/29/09. And Today I stopped into the Ford Dealership where I bought it and found out my Fusion is on a rail car in Kansas as of today. I live in the Seattle, WA area. The sales rep told me that the train will take my car to Chicago where it gets loaded onto a train that comes straight out here. :-) I'm excited!

Wow, that's really exciting! I want to hear all about it when you get it.

I just got my VIN a week ago so mine is still in production or not even started yet.

To start with I love how easy it is to stay in EV mode. I say that comparing it to my old Camry Hybrid. And it is just awesome that it will stay in EV mode up to 47 MPH. A lot of roads I drive have 45 to 50 MPH limits, since traffic usually keeps me around 40 MPH, this was a issue since this is the speed where the Camry wants to change from EV to ICE, I was constantly switching back and forth between engine and motor. But with the FFH, I don't have that problem any more, since traffic is rarely right at 47 MPH. Not to mention that the transition is so much smoother, that i"m not sure I'd notice even if it was.

The quality of the FFH is also very note worthy. I'm sure everyone here has test drove one by now, so you probably know what I'm talking about. Ford really went all out for the FF in general, and then plus one for the FFH. They didn't just want to best the competition, they wanted to blow them out of the water completely. I think they did just that.

I purchased the 502A package. So having the NAV is just a extra plus. I haven't had much chance to use it yet since all my driving has been local. but the Sirius traffic package is wonderful! I commute in the Seattle / Tacoma area. Here we have very good traffic coverage by Sirius so I am very excited to have this little bit of extra information to avoid road incidents that cause backups. Time will tell if I find it useful in my day to day driving, but I am excited to see how well it works. The gas price feature is also, terrific. Can you tell I like it? ;-) All the gas stations I typically use are available on the price listing. I haven't decided how accurate the prices are yet, but I also haven't gotten my first tank of gas yet... :-) that deserves a extra big smile!

I purchased the Tuxedo Black with black leather interior. I know a lot of folks don't like black because of the difficulty keeping it clean. But that aside, since I wash my car a lot anyways, this car is sharp!

I had watched a Youtube video about the Ford DNA for comfort and quality. The particular video I watched was concerning seat comfort and what they put into it. Well, I say well done! This seats are very comfortable. I use my wife as a comparison a lot because she notices things I may not. But she completely agreed with me on this one also. Very nice!

Your going to love your car Bill, I can't wait to hear your thoughts in the next week or so.

I'm really looking forward to it. There's so much to explore with this car, in terms of technology, I'm sure it will take me a month to fully appreciate everything it can do!
